News and projects

I want to thank you for your patience because, if you remember, last month I had to publish less than usual due to some family problems and other professional projects that had arisen.

Today I am happy to tell you that my mother is totally recovered from her surgery (thank you all for your prayers). I would like to share a picture of my mother, but she is one of those people who do not like to be photographed.

On the other hand, the projects are taking shape, and about that I can share some photos.

I had been offered a tv show on a local network and yesterday we recorded the pilot.

While they prepared the lights and the equipment, I took pictures as a child visiting the zoo.

I had fun. I had to repeat a few things several times, but I was less nervous than I expected. 

I surprised myself by being able to do the exercises without throwing the microphone to the ground.

The most pleasant and strange thing, at the same time, was having a team of people sharing the work: camera operator, editor, producer and me.

For the pilot, and to bring me luck, I chose one of the t-shirts that Glenda gave me. Hopefully, we will be working all summer and the show will be broadcast in October.

My other great project (still secret) is meeting deadlines and I will show you in a few weeks.

The media week

Hello, dears!

Have you missed me? I´ve missed you a lot!

Since I got the honor to be included in the Top 100 fitness blogs, things have gone crazy. I’ve been interviewed on TV and the radio this week and messages and emails keep coming. So, I want to apologize for being missing in action this week. Hopefully, everything will go back to normal next week, or i will adjust to the new “normal” next week, and I will be able to read your post as I was used to. 

Also, I want to thank you for your patience and support, none of this would be possible without you!

I know you probably won´t understand a word of Galician (it´s similar to Portuguese), but I want to share the TV interview anyway, haha!

Flabby-Assed to Fabulous with Chape Fitness: 1M 1W Update

Mliae continues to do a great job and going in the right direction. After her surgery, with the hormone problems that it entails, we knew that the progress was going to be slow, but we are about to hit under 69 kg.

Also, the migraines do not help and I did not expect them to be so often, so I’ve changed her training routine to one more bearable.

The good news is that despite the medication and hormones, which retain fluids, the weight fluctuations are no longer so extreme and we are losing weight in a consistent manner. This is partly because she has managed to drink at least a liter and a half of water daily. This may seem little to you, but it’s almost double what she used to drink.

The best part is that she herself is finally seeing results and realizing that she is more toned and her abdominal perimeter is shrinking.

Flabby-Assed to Fabulous with Chape Fitness: Month One in Review

Our first month working together is over and Mliae has done a great summary. In any case, although she is very focused on her weight, I would like to point out some advances that the scale can not reflect.

  1. She has lost 2.9 kg of body fat.
  2. She has gained 1.9 kg of lean muscle. This is why the scale has only come down a bit, she has a little more muscle, which is great.
  3. She is starting to drink enough water on a regular basis, creating a healthy habit that will be reflected in her body weight.
  4. She no longer skips meals, almost does not eat sweets and eats fruit often.
  5. She never skips a workout, even if she is tired or has migraines, which shows an enviable determination.

The best way to start 2018

Hello, my fellow bloggers!

As you know, my good friend Mliae needs to get in shape after some health problems. And she asked for my help before the holidays. I felt she deserved to enjoy Christmas without worrying about her diet or having to exercise so I gave her vacation until this week.

Now, it´s time to work, for both. I usually ask my clients for a testimony, a recommendation letter or something similar, once we have finished and reached the goal. But this girl has surpassed all my expectations before we started.

It’s a long post explaining the reasons why we work together again, but I know you like reading and I’m sure you’ll love every word. I can´t imagine a better way to start this year.

Running a 5k after being pregnant

A few months ago, I organized my first contest. Fortunately, the winner was a blogger: Catherine, from “The diary of C.P”. She loves to run but, at that moment, she was having a hard time completing a 5k. If you want to know more about her, make sure to visit her blog and follow her journey.

It was a pleasure for me to help her, and today I am delighted to share her testimony with you:

“I had the great opportunity to work with CHAPE through a giveaway. That was a gift for the virtual being and help you achieve your goal of a duration of 12 weeks. In which we work different things, such as my diet, what I ate and the amount. My goal was to lose weight but the main one was to run and with that achieve a 5k race without stopping, which with the help of him as a coach was excellent in many aspects. He gave me tasks to perform and what I should do and what not.

Also, he told me the best of what I want to achieve and the steps to do it. If at any moment I had doubts or questions, his availability always was on point 100%. The distance from different countries was not an impediment and the flexibility worked incredibly for me. He was always there to give me advice, even give me encouragement when I thought I was not giving my maximum or best.

The system he used to communicate and send notes with the data for me was totally new but I adapt the fast because it is quite easy to use. I liked the system he uses because everything was organized by dates and themes and they always were there for reference. Because of my availability, we always chatted one day a week that’s where doubts and questions were exposed and always there he was with his greater knowledge to help.

Actually, it is a pleasure to have this opportunity and through his work to know a little about the person. He was always very professional and respectful. With his help during my training, I lose weight and most important I achieve my goal. He is part of my achievement, he was not physically there, but he was virtually helping me to focus and work on areas to achieve it. My satisfaction with his performance as a trainer is excellent. I recommend his work”.

Elokenz: share your evergreen content

Today I want to share with you an app that I´m in love with, Elokenz.

Writing a good article takes time. I´m sure you know this and you have felt the struggle. I´ve read somewhere that the average time to write a blog post is 3.5 hours. But our work doesn´t finish after hitting the publish button. The next part of the job is to share it on social networks. And that takes a lot of time too.
First and foremost, you might soon realize that distribution is a boring task. My lower back routine

Sitting for long periods can definitely cause lower back pain or worsen an existing back problem. Does your back hurt? Do you know what I mean? Sitting is a static posture that increases stress in the back, shoulders, arms, and legs, and in particular, can add large amounts of pressure to the back muscles and spinal discs.

I have an old injury and over the years I´ve been trying and adjusting exercises to relief my back pain. This is an easy and quick back pain routine relief that never fails. It takes 5 minutes and you need no equipment.

I do this routine almost every day, some days twice, after two or three hours in front of the screen. I bet most of you sit for longer than I do, so I´m sure this routine will help you if performed regularly. Taking a little time during the day to stretch and relax has an extra benefit: your productivity will increase when you feel your body free of stress. Think about it this way, you take a break when you finish a task to do the next even better. Read more about movement and productivity on Forbes, these guys really care about productivity, right?
