2000 people following this blog

Hello, dears!

It´s exciting and I feel honored that so many people follow my blog.  We are 2000! Thanks to everyone following this blog. If you think about it, millions of towns around the world have less population! :D

As I owe you this milestone, I thought a Q&A post would be a good idea. Well, here are your questions and my answers.

PoojaG at Lifes fine whine: What´s your favorite food?
Anytime, I could eat durums, pizza, tortilla, squids or crabs.
Vikram at Zorba The Budda:  How you been during this time?
Thanks for asking, my friend! I´ve been good, working, studying, meeting new people…
I´ve had upside downs like everyone else, but I don´t complain.
Pam at K.PhoenixWhat is your life like?
Well, I work from home and a regular day looks like this:
I wake up, have breakfast and feed my pets. Then we go for a walk. Back at home, I check the emails, client´s workouts and meals, and your blogs.
I take a break, lift some weights and practice some yoga postures trying to meditate and relax. After that, I have what I call the second breakfast and a shower.
Some more work until lunch time, it depends on the day: client´s questions, new workouts, or maybe taking new videos, photoshop, writing a post… I don´t get bored.
After lunch, I love to take a nap. I wake up about 4 pm ready to answer more questions, emails, and messages. Usually, I have time to read some more blogs.
I finish about 7 pm. I go for another walk with my dog, and later I hang out with friends.
In Spain, we use to have dinner very late, 10 or 11 pm. Most of the times these friends meetings turn into dinners.
Dawn Marie at Hugs & Blessings: 1.- What inspired you to begin this blog?
I started an online business because I found a great way to train online, Evernote. I think you already know something about it :D
I read somewhere that blogging was a good way to get traffic so, I decided to give it a try.
I thought I could write about fitness. But I had no idea what blogging´s about.
There are awards, tag post, guest post, etc. Having a blog on your website is different than being part of the blogging community. I think you know what I mean.
I was blessed with supportive, gentle, and positive bloggers from the very beginning, and I ended up loving this blog thing.
2.- How do you think you were able to attract 2000 followers?
Networking and persistence.
Awards, guest post, meet and greets… all of them are good ways to connect with other bloggers, introduce yourself to new readers, and get new followers.
Posting consistently, daily in my case, I think also helped.
3.- What have been the biggest changes to being a blogger that you have recognized since you have more followers?
I´ve realized that now I play more the host role than the guest role. I like to help others like others helped me, so it´s my pleasure to introduce new bloggers and trainers to my readers, inviting them to write or hosting the meet and greet. It makes my day every time I read a comment like “Hi, I´m a new blogger…”.
Thank you so much for your questions!
Big hugs,
David

The blogger tag

Hello, dears!

First, let me thank Jolie at Joliesattic for tagging me. She is a very kind woman and an amazing blogger. She doesn´t blog, she narrates stories. Definitely, you want to follow her!
Also, I want to thank all the nominations I´ve received last week and give a brief explanation. I truly appreciate your recognition, and at the same time, it´s overwhelming. Last week I received a daily award and two more this week. I just can´t do them in a reasonable lapse, and that´s why I retired in the first place. As this is not strictly an award, and I´ve never been tagged before, I´m going to do this one.

I haven´t found rules so, I´m following Jolie´s lead :)

168 cm, I think that´s 5´6.

Exciting news!!!

Hello, dears :)

As most of you already know, a couple of weeks ago I was invited to MiddleMe to explain some easy exercises you can do at your workplace. It seems you liked the topic so we´ve been working on another post, this time, focus on toning the upper back.

Obrigado, Guimaraes!

Good morning and happy Monday, dears :)

I promised some more pics, and I guess this is the best way to start the week. Take a rest under the tree, because the palace is huge.

Assault to the Castle of Guimaraes

Ladies and gentleman, welcome to the Castle of Guimaraes. It was built in the 10th century and reconstructed in the 13th. Don´t worry, I won´t bother you with its history :) Follow the link if you are interested.

As you get close to it, you wonder why would you even try to scale those walls. I mean, I checked the place and this is the weakest point!

The inside is also impressive.

How can we break these magnificent defenses? Sit and wait. Seriously, that´s how sieges started. Stay far enough from the castle but force the citizens  to stay inside until they run out of food. The best of it is that you don´t need to climb :)

Catapults and siege machines

Good morning, dears!

I asked for permission at the hotel to take some pics. The whole staff is fantastic and the manager allowed me to share with you this beautiful hotel. As there are other guests, and we should respect their privacy, I took pics of spaces with no people. This is a lounge bar, next to the restaurant.

hotel bar

From the restaurant, you can see the tennis courts. This was yesterday while I was listening others guests in German, English, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Once at the gym, Joel Silva, Personal trainer at Open Village Sports Hotel & Spa Club was so kind to pose showing you Kinesis, a functional training equipment wich offers an unlimited number of exercises. All the equipment is Technogym. The gym is not only for guests. Also, a club uses this facilities, open from 7:00 to 21:30. If you need to improve your tennis service or soccer skills, this is your place :)

The hotel is really huge. I can spend a day taking pics: the pool, the spa, the hall… but I came to visit the city. I don´t know if it´s true but, “Portugal was born here”.

Aqui nasceu portugal

I visited the Guimaraes Castle. It´s small but looks impressive! Also, it´s free to visit :D

Castillo 2

Palace of the Dukes of Braganza is next to the castle. This is so big that I couldn´t take a decent picture from the outside. For 6€, you can take pics without flash and visit the interior. I strongly recommend you visit this Palace. This is the interior courtyard.

Palacio 1

I would love this dining room if I don´t have to clean it. Anyway, I bet those Dukes knew how to party!

Palacio 2

Of course, the ceiling!

Palacio 3

Also, there is a part of an exposition, “Catapults and siege machines” inside the Palace.

Catapulta

I found a great place for lunch: Sabores do chef, rúa Abade Tagilde, 353, Guimaraes. The Chef Joao Silva is great, attentive, kind and very friendly. I should train With him. He is a really big guy!

How was my lunch? Ox steak with pepper, salad and chips.

sabores do chef boi

And chocolate cake. Delicious!

sabores do chef postre

With this piece of art… Goodbye, I have places to visit, people to meet, and I´m hungry again :D

I have tons of pictures, but I don´t want to bother you. Instead, petitions? The castle, the palace, gardens, museums… it will be my pleasure :)

Have a great day!!
